The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State said on Saturday that President Muhammadu Buhari and National Leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu would lead the campaign rally of its governorship candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Tinubu, So True recalled, was against Akeredolu’s nomination, as he obviously showed preference for Segun Abraham, who lost the APC governorship primary to Akeredolu by just 34 votes.
The events that follow the outcome of primary has led to more rancor within the rank of National leadership of the party. The height of it was the face-off between Asiwaju Tinubu, and the APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, with the former calling for the resignation of the latter.
But a statement signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Omo’ba Adesanya, APC listed Tinubu among the party’s stalwart that would launch the campaign fixed for Thursday, November 3.
Mr. Adesanya added that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, national chairman of the party, John Oyegun, a national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, the president of the Senate and speaker of the House of Representatives and all the APC state governors would be present.
He, therefore, noted that 30-man Local Organising committee for the campaign had been inaugurated and is chaired by Mr Agboola Ajayi, for the Nov.26 governorship election in the state.
