The first University graduate in Ado Ekiti, Pa Alex Ajayi, has revealed that as an ex-registrar of West African Examination Council registrar WAEC, he has duly awarded certificate to three former Nigerian head of state including President Muhammadu Buhari, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, and Late Gen. Sani Abacha.
It could be recalled that Mr. Buhari’s certificate issue became controversial during run up to 2015 general election, following a declaration by INEC, that he did not make the document available for verification.
In confirmation that President Buhari truly possess a WAEC certificate, 80-year-old Ajayi, in an interview with Punch Newspaper, reiterates that the former head of head state was one of the student that wrote WAEC in his tenure as Assistant Registrar of the Council in Nigeria.
According to him:
I had the opportunity of issuing WAEC certificates to three former Heads of State: Buhari, Abacha and Babangida in the 60s.
